Author Guidelines

Submission of Manuscripts

Manuscripts should be prepared in English, the length of which should not be more than 5000 words, and file size not exceeding 2MB. All submissions will undergo first-level evaluation and plagiarism-grammarly review prior to double-blind refereeing process.

Authors are advised to submit full papers via email to the Managing Editor of JST through this email address: jst@bipsu.edu.ph. The JST management will notify the author and will be advised to log in the online journal system of the JST.

Submission of paper is understood to mean that it is original, not published in other publications, and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Journal shopping, publication of fraudulent data and other unethical practices will be grounds for retraction of an article published in the JST. Violators will be required to refund the expenses incurred in the processing the paper. The JST and BiPSU shall not be held responsible for any infringement related to publication of unoriginal and fraudulent articles submitted by the authors.

Manuscript Structure and Style

The manuscript should contain only the Title, Authors and Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methodology (Materials and Methods for Bio-Physical Sciences), Results and Discussion, Conclusion and References.

The Abstract should present briefly the focus and scope of the paper, method of analysis, major findings and conclusion of the paper and should not exceed 200 words. A list of 3 to 5 keywords should immediately follow the abstract. The main sections may be subdivided into subsections. If needed, put Acknowledgment before the References. The References should conform to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), 5th Edition, 2001.

Figures should be of good quality and should have thickness of lines and sizes of lettering and other symbols to allow reduction of their original dimensions up to 50%. Concise captions (above for tables and below for figures) must be provided with adequate description of the contents. High quality colored photographs should be submitted for clarity.

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, or Microsoft Word document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
